CITRUS IS ALL ABOUT GROWING
AND HELPING YOUR FAMILY GROW, TOO
Now, we’re always big fans of the nutrition that citrus offers. And that’s especially true when it comes to how much it can support moms-to-be. Some of our favorite varieties (not that we play favorites – our moms taught us that was rude), contain this little thing called folate. It helps promote cell growth, which is key during pregnancy. You can find it in everything from California oranges to Pummelos, and Minneola tangelos, too – giving you up to 80% of your daily folate intake.
Another way citrus is there for moms? They are a great source of vitamin C, and lots of it. Not only does vitamin C keep your immune system going strong, it also helps you absorb iron (which is critical during pregnancy, especially if you’re on a plant-based diet).
