Chocolate valencia orange almond crescent rolls

  • 0.25 cup sliced, lightly toasted almonds
  • 2 tsp. freshly grated Sunkist® Valencia orange zest
  • 0.25 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls (8 count)
  • 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed Sunkist Valencia orange juice
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar

Prep Time

Preparation: 5 minutes

Baking: 12 - 15 minutes

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine almonds, freshly grated Sunkist® Valencia orange zest and chocolate chips.
  3. Separate crescent rolls into 8 triangles and place about 1 tbsp. freshly grated orange zest mixture toward base of each triangle.
  4. Roll dough up around filling and arrange crescents, point side down, on an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake for about 12 – 15 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Remove from baking sheet and let cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, combine orange juice and powdered sugar in a small bowl and stir until well mixed.
  8. Drizzle glaze and top with a touch of freshly grated orange zest over cooled rolls.

    • For a flavour twist, switch out the almonds for hazelnuts.
